Week 1

Welcome to the next in the A Life series!  Thanks to everyone for their support of Stylist and Daycare Diaries and I hope you will enjoy this new career path!

This is Pyotr Cherlin and he will be trying to reach Level 10 of the Ghosthunter career path.  And don’t forget!  In this series I am not using cheats! 

Pyotr has the following traits – Eccentric, Genius, Computer Whiz, Handy and Rebellious.

I have also added a secondary goal this career (which I may later come to regret!) which is for Pyotr to earn enough simolians to buy his dream house.  This house sells for the grand sum of 183,779 simolians so I think I have my work cut out for me!

WEEK 1

GHOSTHUNTER LEVEL - 0

SIMOLIANS – 16,500

DAY 1 - SUNDAY

Pyotr moved into this cosy Little Cottage Getaway in Hidden Springs.

Leaving him with only 400 simolians.

It’s not much but it is home!

First things first and Pyotr headed over to the Science Facility to join the Ghosthunter Career.

He joins at Level 1 – Tarot Card Reader.   He works Monday – Friday 5pm to 3am and earns 280 simolians per week.

Needing to work on his logic skill, Pyotr headed off to the library to read a logic book.

Pyotr: They don’t have any.

What! 

Ok, so Pyotr heads off to the book store to spend 50 simolians (50 simolians!!) on a logic book.

After spending that amount of money on a book Pyotr was going to read it!

Pyotr: I need to eat.  Please!

Well I guess I can’t have him starve to death so I let him get some dinner.

Then back to that reading!

He reached Level 1 logic so I let him go to bed.

DAY 2 – MONDAY

First a spot of breakfast and then a trip to the park where I thought Pyotr could work on his logic some more by playing chess.  There are always chess tables at the park.

Or so I thought!

Pyotr: Good day to you Sir.  Please could you direct me to the chess tables?

Louis Swete: Chess? My dear boy!  We don’t have chess tables in the park!  This is a place for quiet reflection and reading!

Lacking chess tables Pyotr decided to get to know some of the locals.

Pyotr: Did you know that Hidden Springs is the only town without chess tables in the park?

Janet Song: Chess tables! Oh how common!

Wondering if he had picked the best town to live in Pyotr headed home for some lunch before starting work.

Now don’t you look, well..

Pyotr: Where did you get this uniform from, it has green goo on it.  And what is that smell.

I swear the EBay listing said like new.

Job 1 – Spirit Invasion

Objective – Banish 4 Spirits

Pyotr: Well this shouldn’t be too difficult

Spirit 1 – Friendly, Young, 37 simolians

Pyotr: Did I get it?

If you opened your eyes you would be able to tell!  You are facing the wrong way.

Pyotr: Oh! There you are you pesky little spirit you!

Spirit 2 – Jealous, Young, 200 simolians

Pyotr: Grr! This thing is useless!  It keeps cutting out!

Pyotr: I can see you ghosty!

Spirit 3 – Kind, Old, 50 simolians

Pyotr: Mwahahahah!

Spirit 4 – kind, ancient, 75 simolians

Job 2 – Spirit Invasion

Objective – Banish 3 spirits

Spirit 1 – Frightened, Ancient, 150 simolians

Whoa Pyotr! Watch the guy!

Pyotr: He’s in the way!

Spirit 2 – Frightened, young, 50  simolians

Spirit 3 – Frightened, old, 100 simolians

For some reason the taxi refused to take him all the way home.

Pyotr: It’s probably the smell coming from this suit!

Pyotr: Oohh shiny!

Pyotr managed to find some gold on the way home.

DAY 2 – TUESDAY

After a good long rest Pyotr emerged late in the morning

Pyotr: I see this career is going to have a great effect on my social life.

He burnt some waffles and gained level 1 cooking

He was feeling a bit miserable so I let him watch a bit of TV

Before heading off to the Science Facility to donate his captured spirits and earn a nice 552 simolians.  Just then a little star appeared – chess tournament!  So they do have chess tables in Hidden Springs!

Well, they have 1 table hidden away at the Shoreline Cabin.

Unfortunately he had to drop out as it was time for work.

Job 1 – Spirit Invasion

Objective – Banish 3 Spirits

Pyotr: Come on ghosty hold still for the banshee banisher!

Spirit 1 – jealous, old, 400 simolians

Spirit 2 – friendly, young, 37 simolians

Spirit 3 – friendly, old, 75 simolians

Objective – Banish 3 Spirits

Spirit 1 – frightened, young, 50 simolians

DAY 3 – WEDNESDAY

It was already morning when Pyotr arrived home

He whipped up some waffles and reached cooking level 2

Then headed to bed

Pyotr: Why do I have to clean?  I can afford a maid!

Yes but you will never get your dream house if you waste your money on a maid.

Pyotr: Point taken. 

Pyotr: More shiny!

Yep, you just keep on picking up those shiny little rocks.  It all adds to the house fund!

Pyotr decided to try a new recipe that he had acquired with his cooking level up.

Pyotr: Urm, should that be making a noise?

Pyotr: OMG!  I swear I didn’t do that!

He set about quickly putting out the flames

Pyotr: I think it’s run out?

Pyotr: Well you will have to buy me a new one; I don’t think that’s going to be working any time soon.

I had to agree.

The fire fighter appeared just as Pyotr was making some nice, safe sandwiches.

Fire fighter: How dare you put the fire out!  That’s my job!

Pyotr: Should have got here sooner.  P & J?

She didn’t stay for lunch!

Pyotr: Hello?  Yes this is he….

Pyotr: Do you really think I have time to enter some silly cooking competition?  Apart from the fact that unless it doesn’t require the use of an oven my food is burnt and tasteless!  And where did you get my number from, hmm?

They hung up.

Job 1 – Spirit Invasion

Objective – Banish 4 Spirits

Pyotr: Well this should be easy; they are all here lined up waiting for me!

Spirit 1 – friendly, young, 37 simolians

Spirit 2 – friendly, old, 75 simolians

Spirit 3 – lost, young, 100 simolians

Pyotr: Ok, so where did that last one go?

Spirit 4 – lost, ancient, 300 simolians

Before heading off to his next job he popped to City Hall

Pyotr had been rewarded the Spooky Trophy for capturing 15 spirits

He also reached Ghosthunter Level 3 – Spooky Noise Silencer

Job 2 – Spirit Invasion

Objective – Banish 5 Spirits

Pyotr: Hands up Ghost!

Spirit 1 – Friendly, young, 37 simolians

Spirit 2 – friendly, old, 75 simolians

Spirit 3 – Jealous, old, 400 simolians

Spirit 4 – kind, young, 25 simolians

Spirit 5 – frightened, young, 50 simolians

DAY 4 – THURSDAY

Job 3 – Paranormal Investigation at the salon

But while Pyotr was hard at work a burglar was stealing his dresser!

Before heading home Pyotr had to stop off at City Hall again

To collect this! He was awarded the Ghost Hunters Spirit medal.

Pyotr was so exhausted after his long night he almost fell asleep drinking his juice.  He finished it quickly and headed for bed.

The long nights were taking their toll on Pyotr.  He barely had time to fulfil his basic needs, living off quick meals and never getting his energy levels up.  He was looking forward to the weekend.

Job 1 – Paranormal Investigation

This job at the Bistro took nearly 3 hours!

Job 2 – Poltergeist Haunting

Objective – Exorcise 4 Objects

Spirit 1 – kind, young, 25 simolians

Spirit 2 – friendly, young, 37 simolians

Spirit 3 – friendly, young 37 simolians

Spirit 4 – jealous, young, 200 simolians

Plus a promotion!!  Pyotr is now Level 4 – Spirit Sweeper

DAY 5 – FRIDAY

Pyotr headed home to bed.

With his Hunger and Social low I sent Pyotr off to the Shoreline Cabin for a quick meal and company.

He managed to reach logic level 2 playing chess with Dawn Kerr before heading off to work.

Job 1 – Poltergeist Haunting

Objective – Exorcise 4 Objects

Spirit 1 – frightened, old, 100 simolians

Spirit 2 – frightened, young, 50 simolians

Spirit 3 – friendly, old, 75 simolians

Spirit 4 – frightened, young, 50 simolians

Job 2 – Paranormal Investigation at the Army Base

Pyotr then headed home

DAY 6 – SATURDAY

Pyotr had the silly idea of making pancakes while tired

Pyotr: Again with the burning stove!

Pyotr: It hates me.

Pyotr put the fire out, and a good job too as the fire department didn’t even bother showing up this time.

Pyotr: You can replace it but I’m not using it until it’s fireproofed.

Don’t worry.  It’s costing you a fortune keep replacing the silly thing.  I’m not risking you setting fire to it again!

Pyotr finally got to bed and made autumn salad (no fire risk!) for his lunch when he got up.

He then headed over to the science facility to sell his captured spirits.

Having enjoyed the Shoreline Cabin on his last visit he headed over, only to find that Dawn had got into a fight with one of the army girls.

Not wanting to get involved he headed out back to play chess with Anna Menon and reached logic level 3

DAY 7 – SUNDAY

I needed Pyotr to improve his handiness skill if I ever wanted a fireproof cooker so I had him unclog the toilet in the cabin.  Having the handy trait meant he quickly reached level 1.

He was enjoying the atmosphere of the cabin so much that he decided to sleep there rather than head home.

As much as he was enjoying the cabin, the food was not great so he headed home for lunch and reached level 3 cooking.

I also bought him a bookshelf to replace the dresser that was stolen.

Pyotr was furious when the sink broke but I just saw this as an opportunity!

He fixed the sink and reached handiness level 2.  He could now tinker!

I had him tinker with the sink for a while

Then noticed that the toilet was clogged. Unclogging the toilet took him to handiness level 3 and unlocked the upgrade to self-cleaning option.

Pyotr spent the rest of his day upgrading the shower to self-cleaning and reached handiness level 4.  I can just smell that fireproof cooker!
